A Paragraph With The Mariners – 105

So, is it a matter of Sir Douglas Fister losing “something” since his DL stint?  Is he regressing to what we all thought he was?  Or was this a simple case of facing the Texas Rangers and beating yourself?  I’m not gonna lie to you, this isn’t an offense where you want to start walking guys, because just around the bend is another masher who’s going to knock your 89 mile per hour shit out of the ballpark.  I’m willing to let bygones be bygones here and chock this up to a lack of command + good Texas hitting, but it bears mentioning that Fister has made 8 starts since returning from the DL and hasn’t gone longer than 6 innings in any of them.  Before the DL, he was Johnny Eighth-Inning, so I dunno.  His ERA is just scraping the 4 range, which is probably where he should be.  Still, it was nice for a while, wasn’t it?  Between him and Vargas and Felix, we had the potential for three amazing ERA guys going into next year.  Also, don’t look now, but Figgins has just surpassed Gutierrez in batting average and is well on his way to .250 …
