A Paragraph With The Mariners – 155

I don’t have much to say.  I haven’t seen a Mariners game in, like, a week I think.  Looks like Justin Smoak hit a homer against his old team last night.  That’s … that’s something.  Brandon League was allowed to notch his fifth save of the year in lieu of padding Aardsma’s stats (who’s looking more and more likely destined for the chopping block at season’s end).  David Pauley had another Quality Start, but who really cares?  Ichiro got his 200th hit while I was gone, so case closed there.  And Felix pitches tonight.  If my worst fears about this organization are realized, this will be his last start of the season.  The last chance for Cy Young voters to see the best pitcher in baseball before they stupidly vote for C.C. Fatbathia.  5:05pm start tonight, so get home early and watch a wizard at work.  And, if I’m wrong, and he DOES get his chance to shine in the final game of the season (a reward for all his hard work in an awful season AND a reward for any of the remaining fans who’ve put up with the bullshit for this long), then I plan to be at Safeco on Sunday, October 3rd at 1:10pm.  Let’s go Felix!
