Huskies Suffer Hangover Game, Still Win

Not our finest day shooting the ball, but a win is a win.

You had to expect this coming off of the thrilling Thursday night showdown against number 2 Arizona.  Playing against number 10 Arizona State was sure to be something of an emotional letdown.  But, never did I think we’d actually end up losing this contest.  And we wouldn’t, so long as Matthew Bryan-Amaning continued kicking ass and taking names.

30 points on 11 for 16 shooting.  9 boards, 2 blocks and a steal and most impressively:  8 for 8 at the charity stripe.  You couldn’t contain the man today!  It didn’t look like they had a guy within 5 inches or 50 pounds of the big man, and we exploited those trips to the well time after time after time.  Outstanding.

IT had another big game filling up the stat sheet:  19 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.  If the man isn’t Pac-10 Player of the Year, there’s something seriously wrong with this country.

Other than those two, we didn’t really have much going on.  Suggs dropped 10 points as the only other guy in double-figures.  But, as a team we shot horribly from 3, making only 6 of 20.  But, inside the arc we shot well (68%) and we actually got to the line on a regular basis (making 20 in 26 attempts).

Next week marks the midway point in the Pac-10 schedule.  We’re 7-1 with a commanding lead going into Wazzu on Sunday night.  Good time to catch a break and let the rest of the Pac-10 beat up on each other.
