Mariners Beat Indians Behind Great Pitching

Ariel Miranda went 5.1 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks, with 7 strikeouts.  James Pazos brought the heat, going 2.1 innings in relief, striking out 4 and really looking dominant.  And, true to his word, Scott Servais has jacked up the usage on Edwin Diaz, sending him in there for the 4-out save (where he struck out 3).  Diaz also appeared for the third straight day, so I have to wonder what his availability will be over the weekend.

The Mariners won 3-1, thanks to a 2-run homer by Cano and a solo homer by Gamel.  Gotta say, Gamel has been mighty impressive in the early going.

Nelson Cruz was held out of the game with a hamstring issue.  I don’t know what that’s all about, but Jesus Fucking Christ, can the Mariners ever catch a fucking break?

Gallardo on the hill today.  Early games today and tomorrow.  All of it, unfortunately, overshadowed by the NFL Draft.
