Mariners Beat Mets, Lose Haniger, Make Moves

The Mariners got 3 early runs off of Jacob deGrom and made it work, beating the Mets 3-2.  Yovani Gallardo went 5.2 innings, giving up 1 run, and the bullpen did the rest.  And, in the process, Mitch Haniger took a fastball off the face, had plastic surgery, and has been placed on the DL.

Corresponding moves include bringing back Leonys Martin, who’s getting the start today.  Erasmo Ramirez has also officially been added to the roster, costing D.J. Peterson his spot on the 40-man (he’ll need to pass through waivers to stay in the organization on a minor league deal).

Another afternoon game today, with Paxton on the mound, so it looks good.
